Leading efforts to create investment opportunities to utilise concessional finance capital pools to accelerate the development of markets in government policy driven sectors, Ben’s current focus is climate change, specialist disability accommodation (SDA) and social housing.
He has primary responsibility for Macquarie Asset Management (MAM)’ s SDA business in Australia and Green Climate Fund initiatives, globally. Ben has established one of the largest portfolios of purpose built accommodation for people with disabilities in Australia. He has led the asset acquisition and portfolio growth of the business over the past four years to provide over 230 dwellings.
He is a member of the SDA Reference Group and has frequent engagement on policy creation and with the National Disability Insurance Agency on the market development of SDA.
During his 20 years at Macquarie he has been involved in a broad range of transactions including structured capital markets, principal acquisitions, retail structured products, the development of fund products for high net worth and hedge fund clients and developing Macquarie’s ship finance and export credit capabilities.
Ben joined Macquarie in 2001. Prior to that, Ben worked for four years in the tax and audit divisions of PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG.
